Color is one of the most important tenants of the creative process. Simple changes in hue and gamma can dramatically affect the emotional response to our content, so much so that we go to great lengths in color grading to ensure that the look is correct. As the color of our content is so important, we need to have confidence that the monitor we are using to adjust and judge the color of our content is correct and within calibration such that our content will look correctly on any monitor, at any facility and during broadcast. To achieve this confidence over the color of our displays, a color calibration process is absolutely necessary.
